SUMMARY:Hands Across the Sands: Art With Heart for Queens County Food Bank
DESCRIPTION:Register to Participate or to Pledge\nhttps://docs.google.com/…/1FAIpQLSeSo8JC8fFlaG…/viewform\nThe Goal\nOn Saturday\, November 16th (weather dates: November 17th)\, we aim to draw 150 large stick figures along the length of Summerville Beach. Picture each figure standing about 30 feet tall\, with their feet toward the water and hands linked\, forming a line of community spirit across the sand. These drawings will be simple and accessible for anyone to create—no artistic talent required! The money raised through this event will go directly to support the Queens County Food Bank\, helping families in need.\nHow it Works\n$20 per stick figure\, our goal is to see at least 150 figures sponsored and drawn.\nPut together a team\, bring your family\, or come alone and join the group on the beach to benefit the Queens County Food Bank.\nIdeally\, 5 figures sponsored for each registration would be amazing!\nIf drawings are preplanned\, they would take approximately 20 minutes to complete.\n– On the day of the event\, bring your own rake (a variety of rake sizes is helpful). You can find simple stick figure designs online ahead of time to make the drawing process easier. It should only take about 15-20 minutes to create each figure\, which represents your contribution to helping local families through the Queens County Food Bank.\n– As you draw\, each figure’s hands will connect with the next\, symbolizing unity and support for those in need in our community. Together\, we’ll make a powerful statement while raising funds for a cause that matters.\n– Once the drawings are complete\, we plan to capture stunning drone footage as the tide rises\, with the figures’ feet gently touched by the water—a powerful image of our collective effort to support the Queens County Food Bank.\nOpen to All!\nYou don’t have to be a professional artist to make a difference. This event is for everyone\, regardless of skill level\, and is a perfect way to contribute to a great cause. Random participants are also welcome to show up on the day and add drawings\, contributing to the growing cash bucket\, which will directly benefit the Queens County Food Bank.\nHow to Get Involved\n– Commit to being one of the 30 lead drawers or teams by signing up and securing your sponsorships. Families\, friends\, or coworkers can join forces to draw together to meet the $100 fundraising goal\, all in support of the Queens County Food Bank.\n– Simply bring your rake and join us for an afternoon of fun\, creativity\, and community support for a great cause.\n– If you’re not comfortable drawing or can’t make the date\, feel free to sponsor one of the drawings or help spread the word. Every bit helps in our mission to raise funds for the Queens County Food Bank.
