There will be 50 plus vendors on site with a huge variety of products and baked goods. *We are so thankful to the vendors for donating some of their product line to help us create a Vendors Basket to sell to the public and raise money for the Rosalin Nickerson “CARE” Fund. The value of the basket is over $2100. Tickets will be $5 each. DESCRIPTION:Cory Lavender is a poet of African Nova Scotian and European descent living in the Kespukwitk district of Mi’kma’ki (Southwest Nova Scotia). His new book\, Come One Thing Another from Gaspereau Press contains larger-than-life characters and stories that assert the experiences of generations of Lavenders and Roys as a kind of rural epic\, transposing ordinary occurrences into the ageless framework of myth and its preoccupation with metamorphosis. Colloquial\, humorous\, exuberant\, shot through with reverie\, these poems are carefully-crafted oratory\, love songs for a vibrant heritage.\n\n\nE. Alex Pierce is the author of two poetry collections\, To float\, to drown… (University of Alberta Press\, 2020)\, and Vox Humana (Brick Books\, 2011) She edited two anthologies for Boularderie Island Press\, Salt and Wild\, Shelburne County Anthology\, with Susan Hoover\, and Aubade: Poetry and Prose from Nova Scotia Writers. Add to the family traditions\, and memories.\nWho knows\, maybe we will have a surprise visitor again from Whoville !?\nTree lighting will be at 5:45pm.\nFeel free to come early and stay late.\nIf you would like to volunteer for making cookies\, please reach out\, we will happily accept!\nThis is a community event. Anybody and everybody can take part.\nWe have $2030 left in donations last year for lights moving forward\, and this is after we purchased new lights for this year ! A suggestion was made last year by Community Members wanting a place to make donations\, we listened. This year there will be a donation box set up by the Hot Chocolate for those of you wanting to make a donation. Please note a donation is not required\, all we request is your presence and laughs.
