This event is designed for youth and their families to learn about the offshore wind industry and to inspire youth about future career paths. \nYou and your family are invited to join Kat Mataya\, Manager of Workforce Development\, Sydney Silver\, Training and Education Coordinator\, and Frida Kaeubler- DeLong\, Outreach Education Intern from COVE\, for the interactive event at Rissers Beach on August 24th\, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. The event is suitable for ages 6+. DESCRIPTION:Join us!\nBridgewater\, by way of it’s Centennial Trail\, is interconnected to more than 125kms of maintained trails within\, and beyond the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg. \nAs part of Bridgewater’s 125th Anniversary festivities and the Harvest Moon Music Festival (Sept 20-21)\, on Saturday September 21st\, riders from near and far are invited to join us for an 11km return community ride\, along the historic\, and picturesque\, LaHave River. \nFollow along the LaHave by way of the Centennial Trail-LaHave River Trail for a scenic ride between Bridgewater to Cookville Provincial Park (on Rte 12) and back. \nTo mark the 125th Anniversary – maybe we’ll reach 125 riders! \nProudly presenting this fun ride in partnership with Cycling Nova Scotia is the Town of Bridgewater\, Municipality of the District of Lunenburg\, the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre and Sweet Ride Cycling. \nRegistration Fee:\nFREE\, but you must register! \nRiding Level:\nAll levels – fun for the whole family! \nRide Duration:\nApproximately 90 minutes\, including a rest/refreshment break at Cookville Provincial Park\, along the edge of the LaHave River. \nFacilities:\nA portable washroom is available at the trailhead. \nParking: Limited parking is available at the trailhead\, nearby along LaHave Street\, parking can be done readside and in vacant parking lots between LaHave Street and its intersection with Aberdeen Road. \nEquipment:\nBring your bicycle\, helmet and waterbottle.\nNOTE: Don’t have a bike\, but want to come along borrow one from the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre’s Bike Borrowing Program\, see details here: https://www.ymcasouthwestns.ca/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Bike-Loan-info-1.pdf \nRegistration Desk:\nOpen 12:30pm – 1:30pm\, Saturday Sept 21\, at the trailhead parking lot at 781 LaHave Street\, Bridgewater. \nIf you have questions\, or have any difficulties with registering please email mike.todd@sportnovascotia.ca or call Cycling Nova Scotia at 902-377-2961

DESCRIPTION:Get ready to send the summer out in style this September in Downtown Bridgewater! \nThe Town of Bridgewater and Arby’s are proud to present the third annual Harvest Moon Music Festival in Downtown Bridgewater\, taking place along the riverfront in beautiful Pijinuiskaq Park in the heart of the LaHave River Valley on Saturday\, September 20 and 21\, 2024. \nThis year\, as we mark the Town’s 125th anniversary\, we’re doing the event bigger and better than ever\, with FREE LIVE MUSIC in Pijinuiskaq Park on Friday and Saturday night. \nFRIDAY\, SEPTEMBER 20\nJoin us for a fantastic kick-off show\, with the Lyle Catt Blues Band\, beginning at 6:30 p.m. \nThe night will be capped off with Ian Sherwood taking the dockside stage at 7:45 p.m. \nSATURDAY\, SEPTEMBER 21\nIt’s going to be a busy day all over Bridgewater on Saturday. The fun downtown starts with a Motorcycle Show and Shine on the North Parkade\, beginning at 4 p.m.\, and presented by the Canadian Lonewolves. \nAt the same time over in Pijinuiskaq Park\, Jessica Russell will kick off an amazing evening of music at 4 p.m. \nNext up\, the rock band with an alternative twist Air Traffic Control will take the stage at 5 p.m. \nThe evening continues with Jackie Putnam taking over at about 6:10 p.m. \nThen headliner The Town Heroes will take over the stage around 7:10 p.m. \nFinally\, around 8:30 p.m.\, the Bridgewater Fire Department Band will provide accompanying music for our celebratory fireworks display\, made possible by the Bridgewater Fire Department fireworks team. \nThis is just a taste of what’s happening in and around Bridgewater during Harvest Moon Festival Weekend — stay tuned for more info as we celebrate the end of the summer season and the 125th anniversary year of our community! \nThis event is made possible in partnership with the Government of Canada\, Arby’s\, the Bridgewater Fire Department\, and the Town of Bridgewater. \nAs always\, please note that this schedule is subject to change.
